{"id":161,"date":"2008-09-01T11:36:49","date_gmt":"2008-09-01T15:36:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.samplereality.com\/gmu\/fall2008\/343\/?p=161"},"modified":"2008-09-01T11:36:49","modified_gmt":"2008-09-01T15:36:49","slug":"thoughts-on-hegirascope","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.samplereality.com\/gmu\/fall2008\/343\/2008\/09\/01\/thoughts-on-hegirascope\/","title":{"rendered":"Thoughts on Hegirascope"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have to say that my experience with Hegirascope was confusing.\u00a0 The only comparison I could come up with was reading anything by Kurt Vonnegut or Douglas Adams&#8217;s Hitchhiker&#8217;s Guide to the Galaxy series.\u00a0 My brain is not wired to process things that don&#8217;t seem to connect to one another directly.<\/p>\n<p>The parts of Hegirascope that I explored seemed to all contain snippets of either a scene from a story or a newspaper article.\u00a0 None of the links that I pressed seemed to correspond with the text it leads to in Hegirascope.\u00a0 I think that may have something to do with the confusion I felt while experiencing Hegirascope.\u00a0 Expecting one thing and getting something else.<\/p>\n<p>I did use the back button &#8211; a lot!\u00a0 I am no speed reader, so 30 seconds was just not enough time for me to parse what was written on the page, much less make a choice on where to go next.\u00a0 I did like the &#8220;choose your own adventure&#8221; aspect of Hegirascope.\u00a0 It brought back memories of that kind of book I used to read when I was younger.<\/p>\n<p>While I appreciate the effort it took to create Hegirascope, I&#8217;m afraid it is beyond my ability to comprehend its meaning.\u00a0 Perhaps that will change with discussion in class.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have to say that my experience with Hegirascope was confusing.\u00a0 The only comparison I could come up with was reading anything by Kurt Vonnegut or Douglas Adams&#8217;s Hitchhiker&#8217;s Guide to the Galaxy series.\u00a0 My brain is not wired to process things that don&#8217;t seem to connect to one another directly.
