While mapping my CYOA book, I realized how rich it is\u00a0with different\u00a0narrative paths.\u00a0 The map gives the reader the impression that he has a lot of room to wander and explore.\u00a0 Although there are several different paths to take, however, the map also illustrates the limiting aspects of the book.\u00a0 The branches in the map are independent of each other.\u00a0 In other words, one branch leads to a\u00a0unique narrative path, another branch leads to a different narrative path, and so on and so forth.\u00a0 The reader has only some control over how the narrative unravels.\u00a0 The reader can choose the path he or she takes, but where the path leads never changes.\u00a0 In other words, the reader\u00a0doesn’t have the option of going back to the decision point once the narrative has ended.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
