Reflections upon your own "Incipit"
- Describe your general methodology for choosing the links you inserted into your Calvino "incipit."
- Pick four of the links you created in your incipit and explain your rationale for each of them, and then reflect on whether you were successful or not in what you tried to convey.
Reflections upon other "Incipits"
- Read two other incipits
- In a new post to the blog, write a reflection about how the links added or took away from the “meaning” or “coherency” of the incipit.
The two incipits I read were From the Dark Cells of Isolation and Cowering in the Darkest Chasms. The links in Dark Cells of Isolation in general didn’t take away from the coherency of the story. The first link on the work “Dark Cell” went to my psudo Calvino chapter. I can understand someone doing that because it is literally usually in cave except usually by the entrance of it. I wasn’t sure the Cimbrian on reresented when it went to a painting. Maybe two brothers in the pic represented the two brothers being talked about in the story.
I was amused by how the first link of birds” went off to an online Duck Hunt game in Cowering in the Darkest Chasms. I used to play that on Ninentendo when I was a kid. The link for escape went to Aushwitz which was a concentration camp during WWII. It makes me thinks of how the gates or a sign of that camp had “Work Will Make You Free.” In reality, death was the only real thing that would make you free if you were in that camp during WWII unfortunately. Like the other story I read, the links went with the words in general. The coherency didn;t seem to be hurt by them
