hey all!!!! okay about the comic book

hey all!!!! okay about the comic book……………….."And all that’s needed is the desire to be heard, the will to learn, and the ability to SEE."  A qutote taken from Understanding Comics, The Invisible Art, I find that this last statement made by the artist/the writer/the creator is- although very simple- very profound. This message speaks for all genres of art, of creating and expressing oneself- whether this is through literature, composing, painting, et. I enjoyed the book, it included a number of insights that i had never thought of prior to reading it

  1. oh , ok, ummmm… simply put, the author’s approach to sending this message was rather unique, and I feel very affective. The use of the comic book as purely a medium to convey a particular message is one that I feel most artists do not consider, nor do most writers even consider, as a means of doing so. In previous years, the term comic merely evoked feelings of fantasy, cartoon, and fiction. There had never, from my perspective, appeared any reason to accept comics as an ART FORM taken seriously, just as any artist would want their work taken seriously, as well as any writer. I appreciated the author’s unique and simplistic, yet exciting way to communicate with his audience the message of “comics, the invisible artform”. It has now occurred to me that comics are, just as painting, drawing, writing or creating, a form of communication that should- as a result of being from the mind of its creator- be taken seriously for its content,as opposed to being jugded by general stereotypes.
